Tap into the towns, tools and characters of local hard rock mining heritage by visiting mining sites of years gone by. Tours are open to ages 10 years and older. Some walking required. Participants will driven to historic mining sites in Boulder County vans by staff. Be sure to bring clothing for Colorado's changeable weather, sturdy closed toe shoes, and sunscreen/bug spray, as you wish. This tour involves visiting historic mining sites. Due to their nature and history, these sites may contain soil and water contaminated by heavy metals.
