Please join us for an artist painting session led by local oil paint artists, Anne Gifford and Kathleen Lanzoni, and guided by Ranger Fowler to create artwork to submit to the ‘2018 Outdoor Creations – A Boulder County Juried Art Show’ or the 2019 photography exhibit. ANNE GIFFORD After 25 years of printmaking, Anne Gifford now works with watercolor where she builds successive layers of color to create her vibrant, rich, and detailed paintings. Living in Boulder since 1976, she finds inspiration in Colorado’s natural beauty. Anne is always on the lookout for new imagery on her many walks and hikes. Light, shadows, rocks, water, mountains, canyons, wildlife and whimsy are all part of Anne’s subject matter. “When I create a landscape sometimes I feel as though I am recording the natural beauty surrounding us for future generations. I hope my viewer will experience the happiness I felt as I created it.” She is an award winning artist and the eight time poster artist for the Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race. Many of her paintings are also available as giclee prints, which she makes using archival inks that will not fade for 100 years. Painting in the studio as well as Plein Air (on location outdoors), Kathleen immerses herself in the fluidity and unpredictable qualities of watercolor paint. Kathleen paints in a realistic painterly style, bringing the effect of changing light and color that describes the atmosphere, context and shape of the scene to the paper. Kathleen's artwork is in the collection of many private collectors, medical facilities, offices and schools.
