Please join us for an artist led painting session by local artists, Valerie Meyers and Jeannie DeMarinis to create artwork to submit to the ‘2018 Outdoor Creations – A Boulder County Juried Art Show’. Artists will gather by the corral area at the Heil Valley Ranch 2 property to focus on the rail cars from days past. Jeannie DeMarinis feeds her artistic inspiration working from life. She paints "plein air" in a variety of locations, including mountain settings, cityscapes, farmers' markets, rural vistas and outdoor cafes. She also draws and paints indoors from live models and experiments with "figurative abstracts” and other imaginative drawings. She has studied art at the San Francisco Art Institute, The University of Colorado, Front Range Community College, Adams State College and The Art Students League of Denver. Her teachers include Tyler Alpern, Jake Gaedtke, Kim English and Jordan Wolfson. Painting outside combines Valerie’s love of art and nature. Although Valerie has lived in Boulder for many years she was originally a North Idaho farm girl. She grew up with a deep respect for the land and its beauty. Valerie often paints outdoors in natural light, seeking views that stimulate an emotional response. Also, because she has a background in architecture, she enjoys painting landscapes with structures reminiscent of her rural roots. Valerie is a signature member of Plein Air Artists of Colorado, and member of Plein Air Painters of Estes Park, and the Louisville Art Association. This year she is honored to have been juried into the Boulder Plein Air Festival and the Estes Park Plein Air. She has numerous merit awards to her credit as well as Best of Show in the Louisville Art Association Christmas show. Valerie’s work can be seen year round at Mary Williams Fine Art, Boulder, CO, and Deselms Gallery in Cheyenne, WY.
