Please join us for an artist led paint session by local artist, Marcio Correa, at the recently restored Cardinal Mill Mine site outside of Nederland. Painters will not be allowed into the building. Create work to submit to the ‘2018 Outdoor Creations – A Boulder County Juried Art Show”. MARCIO CORREA's landscapes and street scenes reflect both his love of travel and a fascination with local scenery. “I am deeply interested in nature, but also in the man-made world and the intersection of both. I prefer to paint on location, immersed in my subject’s atmosphere and light.” Marcio works in acrylics and in watercolor, both on paper and on alternative surfaces which can be framed without glass. Marcio is a signature member and former president of the Colorado Watercolor Society, a signature member of the Red River Watercolor Society, and a member of the Plein Air Artists of Colorado. His paintings are featured in local and national juried shows, and have won a number of awards. Coming from a background in languages and literature, and some experience in commercial art, Marcio learned to paint mostly on his own and through workshops with renowned artists, including Alvaro Castagnet, Mark Mehaffey, John Salminen and Arne Westerman. Marcio was born in Brazil, but since 1996 has called Colorado home—it was in Boulder County that he met his wife, proposed to her in a painting, and they started a family together. https://www.facebook.com/MarcioCorreaArt
