Meet at and visit the Nederland Mining Museum to learn about Boulder County's mining history, and then hop in a van to visit the Cardinal Mill site--newly open to the public as a standing reminder of the many mining operations that once existed here. PARKING IS LIMITED AT THE MUSEUM. Please plan to arrive early to find public parking in Nederland, at the Park N Ride or elsewhere.

This is my second season as the Nederland Mining Museum Coordinator. Last season was my first work experience in a museum. I enjoyed learning and performing the various aspects of interpretation for museum visitors and program participants. I especially benefitted in my rookie year from the expertise and guidance of various Parks and Open Space personnel and volunteers. I was born in New York City and raised in northern New Jersey in a family of seven with four sisters and two brothers.
I grew up in Cleveland near a MetroPark & spent summers in the woods of Northern WI. Always been attracted to the out of doors, I discovered hiking as a teen & couldn't get enough of it. My professional interest has been in history & have worked in the museum field in curation & preservation. Mostly at two State Museums. Most of my western trips early on were in the Pacific NW. I moved here 15 years ago & have been involved with both OSMP & now POS, both as volunteer & staff.
I’m a Colorado native; I grew up in Golden and moved to Greeley to attend UNC. I earned my undergraduate and MA degrees in history. That led me to museums, where I’ve worked for over 20 years. As of December of 2010 I’m excited to have Boulder County Parks and Open Space as my workplace. There’s fun, constant learning, and variety in being the Cultural History Program Coordinator; I get to work with amazing and talented colleagues and volunteers as we share the history of the area.
