Hey There! Ever heard of a 'native seed collection'? If not, you're in for a treat! Using native, locally adapted plant material in ecological restoration brings floristic diverstiy, wildlife diversity, and resiliency to the Boulder County landscape that we know and love. Our native plants are adapted to Boulder County's unique soils, precipitation patterns and extreme elevation gradient, so these plants are hardy! In order to use our local, ecotypic plants in restoration, often we need to collect their seeds from our local wildlands. *Boulder County is taking the spread of COVID-19 very seriously. To ensure the safest possible experience for all, we will be requiring the following protocols: 1. If you are at all sick or have been in contact with someone who was sick within the last 2 weeks, DO NOT ATTEND. 2. The group will be limited to 9 volunteers. 3. All participants will be required to wear a face covering at all times on the project. 4. Social distancing will be required throughout the project. 5. We are not providing any water or snacks. Please ensure you come supplied with enough of both. 6. If you have your own gloves, please bring them. We will provide gloves for those who don't have their own. (*for this project: dexterous gardening gloves recommended, but not required) Join me this Saturday (7/25) for a peaceful morning in a beautiful area, and help us restore Boulder County!
